When my in-laws Lucy and Ray were in Pittsburgh visiting a little over a week ago, we decided to do a day trip to Gettysburg. I have never been to Gettysburg, but have always wanted to visit. It was an absolutely beautiful day, except it was so terribly windy which made it even more cold than what it should have been. If I remember correctly the winds were up to 20mph. I mean it was windy, thank goodness you have the option of driving to the different areas. You also had the option of horse back riding which I know I would not be able to walk for days, or take their tour bus. Neither of those are an option with a toddler. We all knew that Gettysburg was going to be a big place, but I did not realize how big it was if memory serves me right I believe it is about 20 miles around. Then I thought about the 50,000 men that died in 4 days and 20 miles around did not seem so big.
I have a good amount of photos below that I would like to share. This is going to be the longest post I have posted yet, but I believe the men that died and the men that returned home deserve this. I hope you enjoy them.
