Right now I am currently sitting at a new Starbucks! And it’s quite lovely. The old Starbucks has more of a sentimental value to me more than anything. It was the first Starbucks I ever went to… and it was the meeting place among my friends when I was in high school. My friends and I would meet there occasionally late at night ..get our Latte’s and walk around outside of the closed stores that surrounded us. Occasionally, we would meet in the center of the parking lot and have a big hang out with other classmates. It was just pure fun. Sometimes I miss those days…the easier days before life became more challenging.

As life moves on new memories emerge. A new phase in life.

Rumor has it..I think they are putting a Panda Express in where the old Starbucks location used to be.

Have you ever eaten at a Panda Express? If so..what are your thoughts? What is your favorite food item to order? Keep in mind I am highly allergic to Shellfish.

Sophia was having a playdate with her friend Karsyn last Wednesday, when my friend Jess showed me this woman t-shirt that she was wearing. I instantly fell in love with it as well. Needless to say…I approached the woman and asked here where she got this incredibly comfy looking t-shirt…she said H&M. And it was ten dollars….(hold the phone)…ten dollars. This mama went straight up to the mall…I was in dire need of new t-shirts and couldn’t beat the price. These long t-shirts are amazing! I’m in love! They are soon comfortable and you can totally wear your leggings with them…and they cover your rump!

I received this Alex & Ani Crystal Quartz Pendant Necklace as a gift and I absolutely love it! I wear it constantly. Do you believe in the healing powers of crystals and stones? I do.

Mud Pie Clothing is one of my favorite brands of clothing for kids, but it is pricey. You know who sells it for a cheap price…Amazon…yes…Amazon! Sophia has a few of their outfits that was bought off of Amazon. The best part is you would never know the difference!

I bought Sophia a floral lunch box at Old Navy the other day for school. I can’t seem to find their floral print one on their website…but I still highly recommend them!

So this Happened…

First things first…I signed Sophia up for Preschool the other day….let me repeat..

I signed Sophia up for Preschool! I can’t believe it, it just feels like a minute ago the doctors handed me this little bundle of joy…and now she is getting ready for school.

Where did the time go? Too fast.

Besides the fact that she will be starting school in the fall…I must brag on how much I love her school. It’s wonderful. I believe we have found a fit for her. And let me say, when I did the tour of the school she stayed in the classroom with the other kids and played the entire time.

Since she did so well with the other kids, I did sign her up for a “pre- preschool,” class called KDO. It gets them ready for preschool. Friday was her first day. Initially she was only supposed to be there for 2.5 hours, but when the teacher called and told me how well she is doing I allowed her to stay the full day.

She had a blast…so much that when I picked her up she cried too “play more peas.”

So she is going back on Monday for a few hours.

Mama may hit up the gym!

Friday evening we decided to do a little bit of celebrating Sophia’s success with KDO and also it was 78 degrees in Pittsburgh! Who knew! I was in heaven…my kind of weather!

We picked my mom up from work and headed over to Bloomfield in Pittsburgh for the best pizza around!

If you follow me on Snapchat you may have noticed that I posted the “best pizza in the world,” photo. If you are ever in Bloomfield check out Angelo’s Pizzeria. Sophia also tried Anchovies for the first time

And. Loved. Them.

This restaurant has amazing Italian Food! About 4 days before I had Sophia we all came down to Italian Days…mainly to eat. Well when you’re 9 months pregnant and all you want is Italian food, this is the place to get the job done!

After dinner and walking around enjoying the bizarre weather for February, we got Ice Cream at this little shop called Scoops Ice Cream. Sophia got their Salted Caramel and ate the entire cone!

I got their Chocolate Almond! So good! Chocolate Almond is my favorite way to eat Chocolate Ice Cream! Sophia helped me with this one as well..but I think she preferred the Salted Caramel.

I wonder what kind of story is being read here? Looks intense.

Sophia loved walking around, looking at all the lights from the different stores…but she enjoyed her shadow even more! She kept trying to jump on her shadow, which made a few strangers chuckle as they passed by us.

We all got to meet Oscar the dog! Sophia was completely smitten by him!

The city lights as we drove home! The evening was very pleasant and it felt so nice to get out and do something that you weren’t rushing to get inside to keep warm. I am definitely looking forward to some nicer weather!

DIY Floating Confetti Tumbler

Around Valentine’s Day I came up with the idea of making a Confetti Tumbler for Sophia. I was going to full the inside with her favorite candies, but it just so happens I could not find the right Tumbler any where to get the job done.

Sophia is like me, she loves anything that sparkles..she will say “ooooh mama that’s sparkle (with the emphasis of ‘kle’ sound).”

This tumbler is beyond easy to make, it took no time at all to make it! And I could not be more please on how it turned out.

Plus you can personalize it anyway you want!

What You Need:

1 Double insulated tumbler that twists off at the bottom (I bought this one from Amazon)

Confetti- Any kind that tickles your fancy

How to Make Sparkly Tumbler

  1. Twist off the bottom
  2. Fill with Confetti
  3. Add water right in where you inserted the Confetti
  4. Twist bottom back on tight

And that is all there is to it!

I really wish I would have thought of making Confetti Tumblers as Party favors for her  Confetti Birthday Party and here are the Confetti Balloons just in case you are curious!

I got most of my Confetti from Michael Arts & Crafts, plus I also had a bunch just hanging around my craft supply box! This would make a really fun Girl Scout project! I mean who doesn’t like sparkly and fun!

It makes me want to drink out of my Tumbler more…hey…maybe it will convince me to consume more water on a daily basis!

Maybe I should start a Confetti Tumbler business on Etsy!

Fruity Pebbles on What?

You might be thinking…what is this? I would be…if I wasn’t the one writing this post. Just a little bit of honesty….BUT…if you thought what on earth are those Fruity Pebbles covering…then you might be a little shocked if I were to tell you it’s chicken…yeah that’s right…chicken.

Who Knew!

Last weekend I invited my cousin Jess over for dinner; along with her oldest son Parker and hew newest addition Jace for some… (hold the phone)…Fruity Pebble Chicken. I thought this would be a fun dinner for the kiddos…colorful…and chicken fingers…need I say more.

So last night we adventured into the world of Fruity Pebbles Chicken Fingers.

Initially, I was very skeptical..the thought of Fruity Pebbles on chicken just honestly did not sound very appealing by any means. Just yuck..right? So, to keep it from being a completely disappointing meal if that was going to be the case…I also made just plain old regular Chicken Fingers. You know just in case…

I. Was. Surprised.

Shocked. Even.

They Were Delicious.

They were like eating a a very mild Honey Chicken, a slight sweetness…but not gross…

Just Perfect.

So if you are looking for something fun to feed the kids or want to try something out of the ordinary…Fruity Pebbles Chicken Fingers.

Food for Thought..I want to meet the person that thought “put Fruity Pebbles on chicken.”

Long time no see…it’s been quite sometime since I have done a post. It’s been absolutely crazy the last two weeks, mainly because we have caught every illness in the Pittsburgh area.

I thought I would share with you a recipe that a friend of mine shared with me the other day. Naturally I am up for trying new recipes especially when it comes to Mexican food, it’s a longtime favorite of mine. These Homemade Crunchwrap Supremes so good! And really easy to make. I don’t know if you noticed I like quick dinners!

So if you are looking for a different twist to Taco Tuesday..I would definitely try giving these bad boys a whirl…

The other day I was in the shower and I totally forgot to put my new shampoo in the shower with me..and who wants to run out of the shower cold and wet…especially in the winter….thankfully I noticed my Philosophy Fresh Cream body wash can be used as shampoo…desperate enough, I tried it. IT WAS WONDERFUL! My hair smelled amazing all day and I swear I like it better than my normal shampoo.

Sophia loves these turtles! She bathes with them every night and even in the mornings, because Sophia is a mermaid and mermaids need to be in water and play.

My hair has become a lot longer in the last year…in fact it hasn’t been thing long in years. Naturally I am a shorter hair kinda gal, but I wanted a change. And with most change you come across obstacles. I found I was having to use two normal size hair ties for my hair, because it’s gotten so long and a lot heavier. I stumbled across these Hair Ties for thick hair…they are awesome! They help me out so much! If you have thick hair issues try these out!

My mom & I are HUGE fans of Chip and Joann Gaines on HGTV Fixer Upper! Do you watch their show? I have been wanting to read their book The Magnolia Story…have you read it? What are your thoughts? I am struggling to buy the book or download it on my iPad. Decisions..Decisions.

My dream vacation is to go to Turks and Caicos, I am going to be saving up to go! Should I go to a travel agency? What are your thoughts?

Do you have any fun plans this weekend? Pittsburgh is supposed to be a high of 61 degrees……61 degrees…sounds like heaven. We sure do need some sunshine!
